Growth in a reflective practice portfolio is shown by evidence of impact—the tangible results your changes produce in teaching and learning. The point of tracking growth is to demonstrate that your reflections and new approaches actually make a difference for students or the learning process. Evidence of impact can include improved student outcomes, higher engagement, better assessment results, or documented feedback that shows progress over time. The other items—a teaching philosophy, plans for improvement, and reflection on practice—illustrate beliefs, intentions, and analysis, but they don’t by themselves prove that growth occurred. Including evidence of impact makes the growth verifiable and concrete.
